Frank Maldonado Jr., Senior Maintenance Worker for San Jose’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, has informed us that they will be spraying the TJ Martin sports field for Broadleaf weeds after the rains.
Sometime during the week of the 5th through the 11th of Feb. or the following week. They will be applying two applications. After the 1st week of March they will fertilize, aerate, and reseed the turf. The next step in the process will be to fence off the field.
The sports field is located at the western intersection of Meridian Avenue and Oakglen Way in TJ Martin Park.
UPDATE: Mar 23rd, the soccer fields have been closed off and the spraying will begin.

The next step will be to fence off the field. Why? They are going to remove weeds with a herbicide and then fence it off? Is the fencing to deal with rodents? When will the field be available? ppp

Perhaps it’s to let the grass recover?

Fence off the field for how long? Is the fencing because of the use of herbicide or because of gopher removal? We need a time frame, and estimate. ppp
