The Folks in Arcadia need our help

Post note:  Unfortunately the felling of oaks and sycamores began in the early morning of Wed. Jan 12, 2011 as scheduled by LADPW.

The Arcadia Oak Woodlands is an incredibly beautiful, biodiverse and irreplaceable patch of ancient coast live oak, California bay laurel, California sycamore trees and toyons. Imagine it all… gone, with a 30 food dirt plateau in its place.

There is a growing interest in saving the woodland.  There is great need to protect old oaks and extend trails and a wildlife corridor along the front range of the San Gabriel Mountains.

The folks in Arcadia gave us some guidance early on with our situation.  Now it’s our turn to help them in their drive to save the trees.
